Year in Review 2012: The Top 10 Games of the editorial
Developers and publishers have brought many treasures in 2012 for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and other platforms on the market. What games are gone right to the ceiling? We ask you today announced the top 10 games of the editors!
As the year draws to a close, we look back on twelve months back full of great games interesting publications. "Kingdom Hearts", "ZombiU", "Diablo 3" and "FIFA 13" ... for drafting GAMES.CH gave in 2012 a number of games that have shown a personal highlight. In ten games are, however, almost all were in agreement. Who have earned it! That rocked! We love!
Place 10: Guild Wars 2
The second part of the online role-playing game series is on 28 August 2012 on the start line. Even months before the match, a possible competitor to the MMO giant "World of Warcraft" has been rumored. Unfortunately, "Guild Wars 2" win than ten million active gw2 gold players for themselves, however, convinced the online RPG many lovers of the MMO genre.
In our opinion, combines "Guild Wars 2" all the good features from various online RPGs. Of course one could say of the game is that it copied everywhere, and steals ... but honestly? What's wrong with the players to offer popular and functional features? "Guild Wars 2" does not stand for breakthrough innovation - still makes the online role-playing game is exactly what it should.Guild Wars 2 gold players in this genre to a lovingly crafted, playful and captivating visually stunning way bind to the PC.
Our editorial conclusion, if slow, "World of Warcraft" is-tired or do not feel like "minor" role-playing as "Aion" or "Runes of Magic" has to be "Guild Wars 2" absolutely a chance. Here is offered, what to expect, a typical online role players. Not necessarily more, but less in any case.

Gamestar Happy Holidays from ... - ... and happy holiday season.
The whole team wishes our readers a Merry Christmas 2012!
Dear readers of Gamestar,
rarely have we longed for the Christmas season as this year ...
... we said last year at this point. And, believe it or not, 2012, we have been longing much doller! First, because the holidays are so extremely affordable that even the most miserable remnant leave account sufficient to even two weeks really relax. With most of us tend to have problems with too much accrued vacation, there is always only one aware quite how much has happened again and how quickly time has flown since last Christmas.
Second, this Christmas is the time proof of how the smallest news sow the media (which we which we must admit, also belong) to completely oversized Apocalypse elephants inflated and is driven through the media village. Hey, doomsday loudmouths (and embarrassing Apocalypse newsticker online plate on Spiegel Online): We are still alive, and how!
We must also, as many have not been able to play every game highlight and thus his side still have a bunch of titles that it is now full experience: Whether Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution, Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, May Payne 3, Planetside 2 or the Walking Dead series: to experience all these games alone takes time and, uh, just rest. And that we take now. And wish you, dear reader, nice relaxing holiday, a successful transition to the new year and a truly happy 2013!
Your Game Star team!

IS GW2 excellent or NOT?
I played for a couple hours, and my opinion is that I do not like this game at all.
Character creation is incredibly complex.
There are too lots of folks working together in the "quests" or whatever BS name they decided to call them, so it ends up being particularly baffling. I felt like I was doing a entire lot of nothing while a billion men and women zerged the "quest" objectives.
Between autoattack plus the not so impactful combat, I was not impressed with this aspect of the game. I like to feel like I'm in control of my attacks and movement, and you do not get that feeling in this game.
There is way too much slow running around for the story "quest".
Worst of all, I was forced to save a gay plant guy's boyfriend to progress on the story "quest".
My help, if you need a brand new MMO, try The Secret World. It is a blast, not perfect, but fun as any of the last 20 mmo's I played.
To start I'm only level 16 on my significant so I haven't gotten as far as others but personally I would give this gw2 gold game a seven potentially 7.5. The graphics, character customization, & gameplay are all excellent in my opinion. What I find the most displeasing is the lack of more then one "quest" in an area. From what I've observed so far there is only 1 quest(besides story) & maybe the odd event quest in any region. So you like reach a further small town or fort and there is only 1 thing you can do there. So basically once you are doing your storyline quests & you aren't at a high adequate level however but you've done the couple of quests that are within your range you're stuck doing precise event quests that respawn every like 20-30 minutes over & over due to the fact exp from killing enemies is in my opinion rather low(& yes i know about the food items you can acquire to grow exp given by enemies). Still like I mentioned to start with I'm only level 16. Also I have however to play the pvp aspect of the game but from what men and women are saying in the general chat the game appears to be more situated towards pvp then pve atleast as far as the end game gameplay is concerned.
Edit: Also to one of the posts above me I will admit that truth that you end up doing quests with 5-20 other men and women & still getting say a gold rating is pretty stupid. There was this 1 mission to kill a mini boss in a cave and I pretty much had just walked into the cave and the boss was killed and it gave me a Guild Wars 2 gold rating soooo.... yeah. Alot of the time you acually don't even end up having to do something because of other men and women. If they were men and women I had partied up with then yeah positive whatever but when its just arbitrary people...

Game of the Year Awards: Best Soundtrack, Story, and Innovation
2013 is right around the corner, which implies we're handing out Game of the Year Awards left & right. Here are a couple of today's highlights...
Guild Wars 2 did a great job reinventing the MMO experience. Although it may not be my preferred MMO on the industry, it absolutely managed to abandon the typical questing strategy in favor of something distinctive.
I mentioned all my preferred innovative fundamentals of the ArenaNet gw2 gold game in a recent MMO-ing.
The Vita plus the Wii U are 2 items that I'll be keeping an eye on. The PlayStation handheld & Nintendo console are each still lacking a strong library of Guild Wars 2 gold games, however I think the hardware has a ton of potential.

Guild Wars 2 34000 account with bans on Bot
More than 34,000 bots were banned only in November of online game Guild Wars 2, said its creator ArenaNet.
According to the security chief of the massive online title Mike Lewis thus dramatically reduced was the number of bots in the gw2 gold game and now they are only a few dozen.
The method by which developers track down and neutralize bots Lewis describes as a combination of "sophisticated computer tools" and "physical surveillance."
"We collect a huge amount of information about the habits of regular players and bots," he explains. "Analyze it and in the most effective way of destroying accounts that are bots. Automating this process already allows us to see the first fruits of our efforts."
"Another way of identifying and dealing with bots is purely physical surveillance. We have quite a team that literally goes around the world and destroy bots" adds representative of ArenaNet and stresses that gives Guild Wars 2 gold player information is also very important for the timely removal of unwanted accounts.

Cthulhu Could Have Predicted? The Secret World Goes Guild Wars
In amongst the mass of reporting around The Old Republic's move to gratis-to-play, one more hugely multiplayer online role-playing game, also part-published by EA, has been a small lost in the schadenfreude stampede.
In spite of this, today has noticed The Secret World announce that, despite the fact that it is not yet embracing a completely free-to-play mechanic, it is moving towards a Guild Wars 2 model where shopping for the "client" (that's, obtaining the game) provides access to subscription-free gaming.
Biting the eldritch bullet
Joel Bylos, the Game Director who has taken over the day-to-day creative management of The Secret World from its original Whedon, the mercurial Ragnar Tornqvist, is spinning this, with disarming honesty, as a mechanism to bring in new players:
Most players end up having a ton of fun once they delve into the myths & legends of 'The Secret World', & we believe the game has the potential to be even more profitable without the subscription entry barrier.
There is a lot of following stuff about ambition and excitement, but this really is the key. The basic message of 2012 for MMORPG producers has been that the finest way to get players to pay a monthly fee for a game they may or not play is to invent a time machine, go back in time to 2004 & release it under the name World of Warcraft.
In defence of this business plan, it worked for Blizzard, & also means that we have been spared the tyrannical rule of the Emperor Morgan of the Independent Republic of Texarkansas, who got distracted by WoW and never embarked on his campaign of terror in our new timeline. Nonetheless, it is a trick that really only works once, and it is questionable whether it will continue to work in the future.
The Secret World was ordinarily going to be something of a tough sell. Funcom, its creators & online distributors, had no illusions about the decay curve of the MMO, having already steered Anarchy Online and Age of Conan into free to play incarnations. However, both held out for longer than The Secret World, which was released in July 2012. FunCom's Q3 report noted that sales were lower than expected - billings for October were $1.one million, which represents subscriber numbers underneath the upfront "poor sales" scenario at launch. In the face of this efficiency, Funcom needs to change at each ends - by cutting costs, but also by altering the way revenue moves into the technique.
Zero cost-to-play isn't zero cost
The new model for The Secret World is not precisely gratis. Rather, it operates on something resembling the Guild Wars 2 model, where the thrust of monetization is taken out of the subscription. Acquiring the "client" - that is, paying to register up to 3 characters on the Secret World servers - allows access to the straightforward content of the game (conservatively, 80-100 hours of gameplay before the endgame). Individuals who chose to subscribe will get numerous bonuses - €10 pocket money to spend in the virtual shop, a 10% discount from virtual goods & - perhaps most importantly to the truly normal player - the Time Accelerator item - a "energy hour" which doubles experience points for one hour each day.
Guns, goths & gasmasks - The Secret World's contemporary-day setting is a attainable selling point
Subscribers will also get access to content packs which will be sold as add-ons to non-subscribing players.
Analysis - Keeping secrets
The Secret World plus the Old Republic, it might be argued, each launched with a payment model descriptive of their lengthy development cycles. Too significant to fail - or at least too big to be pulled when there was the possibility of making revenue on them, industry watchers predicted that both would must be open to many type of free-to-play model, and the only genuine question was when.w
The Secret World has positive aspects The Old Republic lacks, in spite of this also problems that The Old Republic will not. As the product of a relatively minimal publisher, it does not have the buffer of EA's size, but it also has higher agility, and was in a position to moderate its costs by means of development - as well as more conveniently sharing the technology of its Dreamworld engine across Funcom's other MMO work. Each traded on the traditional strengths of their respective studios - Bioware's facility with dialog & Funcom's reputation for character and narrative (founded on Tornqvist's by now legendary single-player adventure gw2 gold games The Longest Journey & Dreamfall).
We are seeing a series of experiments with diverse MMO monetization models at present, but all have the same issue: games which expense as much as or more than a full-sized game are hard to fund with a model greatest applied to small, repetitive mobile & social games. The Secret World and the Old Republic made rods for their own backs with dialog-heavy, story-driven games which each expense money to make & provided hardcore grinders - those who burn through the complete campaign and max out their characters in the very first month of release - little reason to stay around.
Funcom's selected method is good for my type of player, whose approach to MMOs isn't as opposed to my procedure to the gym - the membership fee largely functions as a monthly reminder that I have not spent adequate time there. In spite of this, it does modest to monetize me. Bylos has recognised that Funcom will need to work tough on escalating their average profits per user through the online accessory store, & several variation of "play to win" is likely to start creeping in. The Secret World has ensured that PvP is not too essential to the game, and can in all probability rely on the averaging impact of the three game factions to keep the balance of bought advantage level.

GW2 login and website toast atm ?
Is it just me or can anyone else not login to the game or even the official forums ?
MMOExposed - GW1 got away with box sales (corrected his spelling) because it was a Diablo clone, not a MMO
Voiidiin:Really ? i was playing about 1.5 hours ago took a break for dinner with the family, No mention of any server maint. happening.
MMOExposed - GW1 got away with box sales (corrected his spelling) because it was a Diablo clone, not a MMO.
xm522:strange. i was about to kill a dragon... and bam i get on-screen error codes. i log out and then i couldnt log in. never did i see any announcement. was pretty excited too, first time killing a dragon (of good size) in any mmo. but NOOOO, i never get to kill a damned dragon.
Aviggin:I was still playing until a few minutes ago. They announced maintenance, and that there MIGHT be connectivity issues, but nothing happened. Then after a bit, the chat started not working right, couldn't send party messages, whispers, etc., but /say, /team, etc., all worked.
Then it said "Unable to access log-in servers" or some shit, and this message kept popping up over and over.
Eventually I was disconnected and now can't log in.
So now we play the waiting game. :O
HorrorScope:They started giving out the make-up Karka awards... My gut is saying something didn't work out well and they took the servers down. From reports some people that got chests doing the event also got another chest today, oops! Also people that didn't particpate at all, were getting chests, that one maybe not as big a deal.
From my readings this was not announced. The last Dev post on the forums was prior to going down and no word since.

Guild Wars 2: two big free extensions for this winter?
In a long interview with our colleagues GamingBolt Colin Johanson "Game Director" at ArenaNet for Guild Wars 2, is returned to the launch has been difficult the game He also talks about his future and the opportunity to announce that several major expansions are planned for this winter.
We learn that the success of the gw2 gold game was not at all expected by ArenaNet teams, and now, although the largest wave has passed, there are still plenty of players online. To illustrate, Colin Johanson explains that "during the last weekend of November, the bandwidth game server was busy at peak 90% of connections." This occupancy rate alone explains the desire to have the editor to temporarily suspend sales of Guild Wars 2 for a few weeks shortly after the launch of the title, so as not to saturate more.
Two big updates this winter, with new content
After an update of an honest size in November, the publisher has scheduled three additions of content for December, January and February, without specifying their content. If that happens this month will be relatively light, it insists, however, that updates the last two months butt equate to what we can find in other extensions paying deductibles, then that 'will be made freely available to players of Guild Wars 2.
As for the first part of the series, Guild Wars 2 will also pay extensions, they are however less numerous than the first game. According to Colin Johanson, it is difficult to get add-ons such every six months without overworking the development team. The editor prefers to try to keep a monthly for free updates and propose a few extensions parallel pay.
No subscription to the horizon, the current model works well
Finally, everyone is reassured, the current economic model of Guild Wars 2 is working properly, and it is not a question for the editor to switch to a subscription model. A passage in full "free to play" is not expected either, because it too would impact the current system of microtransactions. Currently, no object in giving benefits gw2 gold game is available via the shop, or passing on a free mode require the publisher to add such items, to which he refuses. Also note that the port on the Mac is still in beta testing, while the possibility of raising the Linux gaming is considered.
Finally, remember that Guild Wars 2 is still available for sale, and you can come and share your gaming experience in the topic dedicated to it on our forum....
